A--Pours a solid dark brown/black with two finger light brown head. Head fades slowly leaving big lacing around the glass.

S--Slight fruity hint right off the bat, but then quickly overwhelmed with chocolate and coffee. I wish it stuck around a bit longer though.

T--Coffee up front followed by a chocolate or something I want to call mocha. Finish is interesting as the little fruit hint comes back, almost like cherry chocolate cake, Very pleasing.

M--About the perfect amount of carbonation for a stout, I would say. It's decently heavy without feeling like total motor oil on the mouth. Very nice.

O--Sam Adams does some beers really well, and this is one of them. Very drinkable stout. Certainly not the most interesting stout out there, but definitely a great go to beer.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Best by June 2014.

I'm a fan of stouts. I've had some that were smooth and rich and others that were like drinking hooch in a bottle. Samuel Adams Cream Stout, for my money, is one of the best-tasting stouts out there that you can buy pretty much anywhere.

It pours a rich, dark brown that leaves a nice tan, foamy head. The aroma brings to mind burnt caramel, toasted hops, and a campfire in the deep New England woodlands. Taste-wise it has rich, heavy overtones of caramel, hops, and barley all mingled in a smokey flavor. Very rich in texture and goes down smooth with very little after taste. At less than 5.0% ABV you can indulge in a couple and not feel like a stumbling idiot afterwards. The best way to enjoy these is in a frosty mug.

Overall if you're wanting to try a stout and don't want a high ABV, this is the one to dip your toes in with. Samuel Adams Cream Stout is my go-to stout. Chill and enjoy!

Typical stout dark brown. Nearly solid lacing. Fruity scent when first poured. Unfortunately the smell dissipates rather quickly. Taste resembles root beer. Vanilla-molasses sweetness with a slight herbal quality. Finishes with roasted malt. The combination results in a dark coffee aftertaste, especially as it warms. Creamy with explosive, fine carbonation.

A drinkable and refreshing stout. A rare stout that feels more appropriate for summer (root beer floats) than late fall or winter.
