I just finished off a winter lager and pours one of these. It almost looks the same. But has a deeper red and more head.
Pours a deep ruby red with a nice thick head that leaves some foam clinging to the sides.
Smells of sweet cinnamon/gingerbread and a slight orange tinge. Candy also comes to mind. It is mainly dominated by the candied cinnamon aroma.
Silky for what I was expecting. The candy cinnamon and ginger cover the palette and reside to a good astringency that makes you wanting more. It is dominated by the spices with a light malty backing
I see myself only having one of these tonight. I find the Winter lager very similar, but more subdued(for obvious reasons) and I could handle more of those than this ale.
