Appearance: a very dark colored beer with some head on the pour, this went away quickly as i walked away to do my laundry. No bubbling, but you can see a dark amber hue in the light.
Smell: malt and hops are obvious when smelling this beer, you can also take in hints of spices that would be part of your holidays. This smells pretty good.
Taste: very malty, with some spice at the end. Its not so bitter, just a good soft malt/spice and hoppy taste. I enjoy it.
Mouthfeel: A high carbonation, and a very smooth beer. This goes very well together with the taste.
Overall: It looks the way its supposed to, it smells the way its described, yet its tastes very malty and the mouth feel works well. This is what they were aiming for, and they hit it on the head.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a dark red amber with a fine half finger tan head with good retention and lots of lacing. Aroma of sweet bready and caramel malt, cinnamon, allspice, gingerbread. Flavor follows aroma, with rich caramel malt, holiday spicing leaning towards gingerbread, light chocolate, finishes with cinnamon and light hop spicy bitterness. Really quite nice creamy medium bodied adds to the holiday festiveness. A very nicely made winter beer with holiday spicing that is well done and supported by the malt, which is selected well to support and allow light spices to be the centerpiece. Uncommon in my area, or I would add this to my winter holiday rotation.
