Reddish Brown in color with half inch of foam. Lacing is evident from the ring and island of foam that remain to the end of the beer.

The aroma is all malt. No sense of hops but a little sense of roastiness and some spices.

Sweet and roasted flavors blend nicely on my toungue. There is a sense of spices but not much. There's a little sense of hops in the finish that lingers a while. Aftertaste is a little strange maybe sulfer. Not bad, just not what I expected.

Mouthfeel is medium carbonated and full bodied.

Interesting beer.

12 oz. bottle poured into tulip glass. Pours a rich dark brown, almost black with ruby undertones. A medium sized tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a lot of thin lacing.

Smell is heavy in caramel and cocoa, a lot of citrus as well dark fruits, and a faint amount of cinnamon and ginger.

Taste is sweet chocolate, caramel, and toffee malts up front. The spices come through, especially towards the finish which all together makes for a really nice flavor profile front to back as the chocolate remains strong throughout. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy.

Overall, a really good, balanced winter warmer, always worth having a few each year.
