Presentation: Great festive label with really nice artwork. Label gives a small amount of info on the brewery as well as the ABV info and a short description of the beer. Neck label gives a more detailed background and description of the beer.
Appearance: I poured this 12oz bottle into a 16oz English Pint. Fezziwig pours out a deep amber brownish color with a 1 ½ finger tan foam head of a light density. Retention was 2min 26sec before fading to a thin foam coating and ring. Produced a medium amount of lacing.
Smell/Aroma: Smells of ginger and chocolate malts with slight hints of cinnamon and sweet citrus. Very inviting!
Flavor/Taste: Roast chocolate malts and hints of smoke along with hints of cinnamon and raisin can be tasted on the front end, blending into a nice hop bitterness that finally gives way to a malty roasty finish. Very nice.
MouthFeel/Drinkability: Medium bodied and very smooth with medium carbonation. Very drinkable.
Overall/Comments: Fezziwig is an excellent Winter Warmer and my favorite seasonal from Sam Adams. A truly excellently balanced beer. I only wish this were available in 6-packs and not just in the Winter Classics sampler. Classified as a Winter Warmer at 5.9% ABV. Consumed 1/10/2013.

12 oz. bottle poured into tulip glass. Pours a rich dark brown, almost black with ruby undertones. A medium sized tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a lot of thin lacing.
Smell is heavy in caramel and cocoa, a lot of citrus as well dark fruits, and a faint amount of cinnamon and ginger.
Taste is sweet chocolate, caramel, and toffee malts up front. The spices come through, especially towards the finish which all together makes for a really nice flavor profile front to back as the chocolate remains strong throughout. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy.
Overall, a really good, balanced winter warmer, always worth having a few each year.
