I really had little to no expectations with this particular brew, and I was surprised with the appearance. The dark, cloudy color was inviting, showing the yeast notes present within the beer. The smell definitely contains cranberry hints, perhaps a bit more than the actual taste confirms. The taste is sweeter than I originally anticipated, with a tart finish. The bottle describes the maple syrup added during brewing process, which may account for this sweetness followed by a cranberry bitterness. I find it hard to describe how the true mouthfeel is, although it vaguely reminds me of a sweet & sour mix to a certain extent, which for a beer is not particularly pleasing to my palate.
Overall I didn't hold this beer to be the most enjoyable, but as with most I appreciated its unique qualities despite the afore mentioned lack of enjoyment.
