These winter twelves don't last long do they? The boys from Boston are consistently blowing my mind this year and the 2010 porter is testament to this ability.
Smell is very nutty/earthy, none of the horrendous metal notes one often gets in English porters and stouts *cough* Guinness *cough*. A spectrum of brown/black fills the glass with adequate cappuccino head and spotty lacing.
The taste is where it's at. Like sucking on a coffee bean where every bitter note just complements the complex sweetness going on around it. But what really wins me over here is the mouthfeel yet again. Deliciously creamy almost exactly like a high quality espresso.
Another win for Sam Adams and yet another reason I'll be buying multiple 12s of their seasonals at least until the promotional sale is over.
