Poured a deep dark copper with no carbonation, looks very much like deep dark whiskey.
Has a nose like a very good tawny port. Sweet with molasses, oak, and vanilla. The nose is huge and complex, can enjoy it for hours.
The flavor a found to be mild in contrast to the overwhelming smell. Very smooth and supple, big vanilla and dark sweet fruit notes - Cherry, dates, and grapes along with rich cedar and oak along with some nuttiness.
The mouthfeel is thick and very warm, leaving a nice scotch like burn as it goes down.
Excellent, great snifter drink especially on a cold night. Very much reminds me of great tawny port. If it wasn't so pricey and rare I would drink this semi regularly.
