Reviewed at RnH, 1 oz pour into a short snifer glass.
Appearance: maple in color with no head and slightly viscous.
Smell: one word intense. Sweet maple syrup, caramel, toffee, malt, earthy amd definite alcohol with a hint of chocolate.
Taste: Opens with an intense sweet raisin with hints of caramel and toffee, and earthy oakiness. The alcohol burn in this is undeniable but contributes to the intense ages flavor profile of this brew. Almost like a fine cognac. The maple syrup in this subtle but is present. The aftertaste is warm, sweet and earthy.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied but packed with flavor, zero carbonation and smooth and coarse at the same time.
Drinkability: definitely a sipper but I would definitely have this again. I'm glad I tried it and I recommend others to try it as well. I recommend this for cognac lovers as well as those seeking an intense sweet earthy raisin profile with an alcohol nose and presence throughout.
Serving type: bottle
