This a very clear dull ruby colored beer with a disappearing tan head. My allergy-addled nose gets very nice dark fruit, cherries, and brown sugar. Suprisingly assertive bitter hits first followed by cidery dryness and tart apple sweetness. Notes of fruit skin. Intermittent wood tones. This is a refreshing and interesting beer, but way too dry for brown ale in my opinion. When you really stop to taste it, the majority of its characters are suprisingly harsh. This is one of those beers I'm having trouble making up my mind about. Mouthfeel is the biggest fault here. It is light, fizzy, and lacks enough body to support the bitterness which means this brown ale is not the one thing every brown sould be, SMOOOOTH.
