It's a somewhat hazy medium brown with some reddish highlights. Fluffy head that never fully disappears.
Pretty malty aromas. Lots of toasted bread, molasses, some dried fruits. Fairly light grassy hop aroma.
The taste isn't as sweet as the aroma would lead you to believe. The malts take on a smokey, toasted bread flavor, fair bit of dark chocolate. Sweet molasses and fruit is still present and comes up more as the beer warms. Again, somewhat light hops contributing to the bitterness.
Medium bodied. Oily on the tongue that gets washed away by the carbonation.
Nicely drinkable. This isn't knock-your-socks-off good, but it would be a good stepping stone for someone who likes Newcastle.
