Paid $6.99 for a mixed 6-pack...
The beer pours a root beer colored base with a small tannish head, head retention lasts for a little but fades, not much lace on the glass after the fact. The smell was pretty weak, barely smelled the nuts.
The beer tastes very nutty but also feels heavy for a brown ale. Mouthfeel isn't there, the high carbonation feels like a soda. It's drinkable when it settles but this is not a brown ale I would go to.
Final Thought: Go with a Goose Island Hex Nut or if you have the cash a Dogfish Head Indian if you want a real brown ale... this one isn't worthy of the Sam Adams label in my opinion.
