I picked this one up in the four pack of theoretically historical ales. Mine was said to be best by October '06, and I poured it into a standard pint glass.
The beer poured an opaque deep, brownish-orange with a finger of off white head. A few vertical streaks of super fine lacing stuck to the side of the glass, and the beer had a subdued, simple nose of lightly smokey maltiness. The taste itself had a slightly smokey lingering aspect to it after being swallowed, with a medium body. No real hoppiness expected or delivered, but a lightly malty, surprisingly drinkable beer. I didn't expect much with this one, but it's not bad. Not great, but not bad at all.

Had yhis back in October of 2006:
Appearance: Medium head with some staying power. Opaque, medium brown appearance.
Taste: Clean and light taste, mildly hopped flavor. Dry aftertast.
Comments: Excellent beer. Very light taste, but clean and refreshing. Less hoppy than most wheat beers. Hint of caramel in the aroma.
