From the 6er, drink by June 07.
Poured into a chalice at slightly above-fridge temp. Dark brown but I can see through past the bottom of the chalice as I drink. Head died out fast.
Smells of rum and raisins. Lots of residual sugars. Scorched sugar, like the bottom of a flan. Alcohol is sharp. Brown sugar mixed with rum. Coarse, and as it warms and the alcohol gets stronger, offensive.
Brown sugar, raisins, and rum on the tongue, along with an unpleasant astringent taste. There is some bittering but it is overcome by the astrigency and a metallic finish. Not to mention the alcohol is not subtle (I know it's 10.6%, it's still blatant even with that in mind).
Overcarbonated for something this sugary, loses any possible smoothness. Pretty thin bodied.
The nicest description for this would be "young and brash." There's not much to like.... unless you get your jollies from drinking the "imitation vanilla" at the supermarket. Not slamming it, but it is "not impressive" in all dimensions.

ark chocolate brown with a nice head of light tan on the top of it. Smooth, easy settling left behind some nice side glass lacing. The aroma was soo sweet. Lots of caramel, smooth molasses and brown sugar like smells coming off of here. The flavor was much more of the same. Rich and very sweet, defintly a dessert beer. I found myself savoring each and every sip of this one as the delicate sweetness of this one overwhelmed me. Soo much flavor here as the sweet caramel malts just overpowered everything and made for a wonderful flavo
