Bought this in a variety pack and got two bottles along with two Black Lagers and two Coastal Wheats. Pours a dark reddish amber hue with a fluffy off-white head that leaves plenty 0' lacing behind. Smell is of fruit (cherries, perhaps), caramel malt, and fresh-baked bread. Taste is very full and pulls through with a sweetness up front followed almost immediately by a salty, biscuity flavor. Delightful to say the least. A beer such as this has a lot going for it: alluring appearance, full heady aroma, and a complex taste. Plus the mouthfeel and drinkability are way up there. In conclusion, this is by far the best red ale I've ever had. If you're looking for a good time, pick this one up and enjoy the ride.

Samuel Adam's Irish Red 6pk bottles $9.99(OH)

12 oz brown bottle poured into a stemless white wine glass. freshness date marked as a notch. i prefer a printed date.

pours a deep amber/copper color. two fingers of thin head that stay around for a little while. giving way to decent lacing.

i smell some caramel, malted hops, a small note of fruitiness was detected.

the taste is that of the smell. a slightly bitter sweet malty start. followed by a slight hop, sweet finish.

mouth feel is medium bodied. good carbonation. that coppery feel is present and clings to your mouth.

overall not bad. however i have had better Irish red ales. Conway's Irish Ale to name just one. i wasn't a big fan of this brew, so i don't think i will be getting anymore of this anytime soon.

Very clean, very clear the red complexion of this ale was filled with tons of quickly ascending bubbles that filled a thin head.

The nose has some light aromas but they are way too light. Malty caramel with a tinge of sweet dried fruits the aroma is twangy sweet.

The flavor holds a nutty malt, caramelized roasted pecan, light sweet Melba toast, sour raisin and toast.

The feel is average not remarkable but appropriately measured.

Despite the complexity I find it strangely awry as my expectation is stronger roasts and toasted malt. The flavors are more twangy and raisin and that simply seems wrong.

12 oz. ounce bottle poured into a tulip.

Appearance: Pours a clear dark amber with a one-inch white head that sticks around for several minutes. Lacing moderate to heavy.

Aroma: Pretty good bouquet out of this one. Caramel, toffee, breadiness, grassiness, piny hops, and malt are all present.

Taste: Follows the nose, and it's really good. Complex arrangement of flavors paired with terrific drinkability. I had this with a bowl of chili and it was great; I imagine it would pair well with most meals. Also works for all seasons.

Mouthfeel: Slightly light of body, but not in an unappealing way.

Overall: One of the better Irish reds I've had. Perfect beer for a cool Spring day. Would have another.
