Standard amber color with a slight ruby hugh in the bottom portion od the glass-a small head forms. Reasonable amount of lacing on sides of glass.
Smell is woody and cedar-like some malt kicking through and clearly these characteristics are very present in the palate. Quite true to style and drinkable. There is maybe a more liberal usage of hops than in many other craft ambers but I think this is a good thing and applaud SA for making a fairly hoppy one like this. Quite drinkable as well.

"Best by 1/20/24"; drank 11/19/23 @ the Yarchives.
Semi-opaque red appearance. a rough pour yielded a huge khaki head; strong, frothy lacing remained.
Sweet corn, mild raspberry & faint cream notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Caramel & faint raspberry flavors up front; mild pine bite on the finish.
Smooth, balanced & tasty. I'd have another.

Most Sam Adams bottles have a specific look, The bartender and a pint I would be remiss if I did not rate it a 4 per the norm for SA beers. The smell was pungent and overbearing as an almost Moldy wheat, you know, that smell of old gym socks and fermented corn. I could only stomach so much, this immediately told me to pour this into a beerstine and let it breathe. Not sure if that was the best idea when I finally placed this Horrible beer in my mouth it was bitter, repulsive and disgusting. I must say I usually do not like Reds but this one, in particular, was a bitter, gym sock, construction of gross. In the end, I dumped it out and grabbed a more appealing bottle from the multi-pack. My advice accidentally drop this on the floor and get something you like, MOVE PAST IT> and try something else. This is a miss for me.
EDIT: I did not get hints of Carmel ~ I might of had an expired batch. I will try again.

No need to re-describe what others have noted. Gravity is moderate, certainly not watery. Tastes of caramel and a hint of toffee and bread. Clearly a malty beer. Finish has been described as dry. My taste buds cannot confirm. I taste a smooth malty finish leaving me wanting for more.

Very good. Malty, slightly sweet, but balanced with a slightly hoppy finish. Not an amazing example of an Irish Red, but a great option for being somewhat readily available.
