Pours a nice golden color with a nice frothy, rocky head. Smell is all hops. Piney, grassy and just a bit juicy. Taste is bittering hops. Pretty rough and bittering in the taste. An easy drinkier, but seems a bit out of balance. A bunch of hops that don't mesh well with the rest of the beer. The malty backbone does not seem to be there to support. An easy drinker, but rather one dimensional and not complex.

Excellent appearance, bright yellow with a full inch of white head and tiny bubbles. Had to use a lot of Hallertaus to get this aroma up, but they did it. Lots of grassiness and some earthy subdued lemon.
Taking the ipa vibe and dropping it into a double pilsner, this one brings the noble hops, and isn't just a jacked up over hopped beer. I mean, it is, but its sum is better than its parts kind of thing. Lots of lemony bitterness.
I definitely enjoyed it, easily one of the top 10 Sam Adams beers ever made.
