I admit, I was a little hesitant to try this one... Extreme beers are generally not my bag, but I do love Hallertau hops and pilsners, so...
Almost Meyer lemon in color, huge and pillowy head sat firmly atop this gem, poured into the obligatory Sam Adams funky glass. Gigantic aromas of snappy, robust, juicy hops, citrus essences, and piny goodness. Amazing. Bitterness envelops the palate almost immediately on the first sip. There is still come balance with the malty goodness, but make no mistake about it - this one is all about the Hallertau hops. Full in body and flavor, I never would have guessed this one was 8.8% ABV. I was floored by this one.
My hat comes off to Sam Adams for this absolute gem of a Pils... This brew makes me remember what I love about Pilsners in the first place!
