This beer was a surprise, and it's label wasn't hype when it noted "intense hop experience".
Pours a cloudy amber.
Produces a lasting white head that laces the glass.
Not much of a nose-- a slight hops aroma but not much else.
The flavor at first sip was an overwhelming bitter hops. HOPS GALORE! In fact so much so that the underlying characteristics of the beer seem to be smothered. Some slight malt notes but its very hard to tell-- sort of like trying to follow a private conversation amidst loud construction noises.
The finish is bitter hops that lasts and remains bitter beyond the end!
The mouth feel is cordial.
In my opinion the drinkability is reduced because of the overwhelming hops-- this beer doesn't have the flavor foundation like an IPA does to withstand the bittering units-
I don't think I'd reach for this beer again, except perhaps to satisfy the hardest core "hops-head" who might come to call.
