Poured from 12oz bottle into duvel snifter glass. Poured a murky orange color with a very thick lacy white head. The head retention on the beer is amazing just goes for days. Smell of malt intermixed with earthy spices and yeast overtones. Taste is a hop bomb that explodes flavors of fresh grass, spice, and very agressive hop oil flavor that is bitter but not overly bitter just hoppy.
Mouthfeel is medium to light with a mild level of carbonation. Drinkability is pretty good for a beer this hoppy and at 8.8% abv, I think this is my favorite Sam Adams beer so far. Congrats to Koch on a great beer that could rival some of the best DIPA out there for hop intensity.
