I poured this 12 oz. bottle into a nonic pint glass. Part of the 2011 fall seasonal sampler.
A: clear dark amber color, an aggressive pour produced a large rocky tan head, the cap is decent and the lacing is adequate.
S: somewhat subdued aroma, there is a bit of pumpkin and toasty malt aroma and a mild earthy hop aroma.
T: sweet malty flavor up front, with a decent amount of pumpkin, the pumpkin pie spice opens up in the middle, and the finish is just a bit earthy with a lingering spice. It is well balanced, and not over the top with pumpkin pie flavor.
M: medium-bodied, silky texture, moderate to plentiful carbonation.
O: I was surprised how much I enjoyed this beer. I guess I was expecting the ghost of cranberry lambic pasts...
