Poured into a pint glass because it was the closest one. Pours a rich reddish brown with fluffy head that disappears rather quickly leaving behind a nice lacey ring. Smell is of pumpkin meat and spice. Mouthfeel is rather thick, wet, and refreshing. It felt chewy. Cinnamon bread notes and a plum finish make this a sweet dessert beer. Very malty with little hop presence. It hit the spot and left me satisfied. It is nothing like other pumpkin ales I have had (with Dogfish still holding the number one slot in that specific endeavor). Definitely worth a try if you like pumpkin ales.

A-pours a nice reddish amber with a tan colored head with average retention
S-brown sugar, spice, pretty faint pumpkin
T-sweet malt mixed with the pumpkin spice, almost creates a spiced plum flavor
M-medium bodied
O-Pretty decent beer. Pumpkin isn't over the top but still enjoyable beer

Appearance: Dark brown/Amber. Thin head that mostly disappears.
Smell: Just a touch of malt, but mostly pumpkin and holiday spices.
Taste: Lots of spice and pumpkin. Very soft in malt. Mostly holiday spices of cardamon, cloves, cinnamon, all blended together.
Mouthfeel: Fairly average. There's a good amount of carbonation.
Overall: It's a bit of an odd flavored pumpkin beer. Really heavy in the spices with an somewhat awkward pumpkin flavor.

A- Orangey-brown (slightly more orange than amber), pours a frothy head that disappears quickly, small carb. bubbles

S- Medium malt, then pumpkin spices (allspice and cinnamon), sweet.

T- Pumpkin spice, then a rather light malt flavor. Little nuance/transition. Possibly a nominal actual pumpkin flavor.

M- Carb. stands out. Beer is smooth, somewhat dry in aftertaste.

O- Just not a fan. Worst pumpkin beer I've had to date- Hope they reformulate for next year.

12 oz bottle poured in to a pint glass

A- Pours a frothy 2-finger head that quickly recedes, covering an amber/mahogany body. Quite transparent with plentiful bubbles rising.

S- Not overwhelming, but definately sweet pumpkin with some spice.

T- Again, not overwhelming, but tasty nonetheless. Tastes sweet, sort of like a liquid pumpkin pie.

M- A bit thin here. I wish it was heartier. Medium amount of carbonation. Goes down easy.

O- A real easy drinker, and a fairly flavorful one at that.

Best before February, 2013. Poured from a 12oz bottle into my Dogfish Head shaped pint glass.

Dark mahogany/burnt orange liqud, not quite clear and capped with an active sunset head. Poor retention, vague lacing.

Roast malt, low vegetal rooty pumpkin aroma along with a dose of clove, nutmeg, and other pie spices. Earthy with very low hop notes.

Strong cinnamon flavor threatens to overwhelm the base of the ale - toasty malt, brown sugar, and root vegetable flavors emerge from the spices. Medium-dry finish.

Light-bodied, sprtizy, well carbonated...

Excessive spicing, but decent base flavors. One of those beers that you think "this isn't that great," but somehow you find it difficult to stop drinking it.

Samuel Adams Harvest Pumpkin Ale has a thick, creamy, tan head and a clear, bubbly, copper appearance, with nice lacing rings left behind. The aroma is of spicy sweetness, pumpkin pie, white pepper, and malt. The flavor is of the same character (pie in a glass), with some other unusual things in there. There might be a slight hop presence as well. Mouthfeel is medium, and Samuel Adams Harvest Ale finishes crisp, dry, and easy going. Overall, this is very good.
