Poured into a 5 oz taster glass. A golden-orange color with moderate haze. Small thin white head. The nose brought cherries, berries, bread, hay, and barnyard funk. The taste followed, with a moderate tartness. A bit of lemon, vinegar, cherry, and some caramel malt. This was all wrapped in a nice funk blanket. Better than I expected - would be fun to include in a blind tasting.

On-tap 9/11/2016 at Natty Greene’s Tavern in North Attleboro, MA, served in a snifter glass.
A: The beer is a reddish brown color, with a thin off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains dark fruit, some wild Belgian yeast and light malts.
T: The taste starts out tart with flavors of dark fruit and wild Belgian yeast funk. Then some mild sweetness follows from flavors of caramel and bourbon. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and brings a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly tart.
M: Crisp and a little smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.
O: A little tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, strong kick, decent representation of style, this is a decent beer to drink for a while.

Ruby with minimal head and no lacing.
Nose is funk, cherries, and cherry cough syrup. A little muted.
Taste is a somewhat bland. Lots of cherry cough syrup and a little bit of the booze peeks through.
Soft and kind of thick/syrupy mouthfeel.
When I think of sours, I don't think "Sam Adams" and this did nothing to change that.
