Medium brown color with small head and lace.
Aroma was bready, malty, grape notes and dates.
Taste was sweet with bread notes and grains.
Some alcohol in finish yet the finish was dry with medium carbonation and body.
The balance was so so.
Still, worth having this one.
Enjoyable.

Another bock that pours thin, brown, whispy 1/5" head. Aroma is muted.

Taste imparts a more dark fruit alcoholic british mild brown ale vibe. Tobacco, plums, prunes, cigars, tobacco.

Review based on notes taken 7-2-10.

I have been overlooking this brew for a long time. Wanted to give it a shoot before age took to strong a toll. A vigorous pour gets early three fingers of fluffy biscuit tan head. Head turns quickly rocky as it slowly fades. Body is a deep mahogany amber tone. Nose is very faint with notes of minerals and toasted grains, both are tough to detect. Taste is malty up front with some snappy almost crisp fruit tones coming in afterwards. Malts stay prominent and get long and thick on the back of the tongue the more you drink. Mouthfeel quickly becomes thick and cloying. Drinkability is not bad but man, this beer really stays thick and malty all over the palate.
