A - The Samuel Adams Imperial Stout pours into a chalice coffee-black with a mocha brown, two-inch head.
S - Sweet, roasted malts, raisin, molasses and alcohol.
T - Sweetish roasted malts, caramel, alchohol, black licorice. This one starts oh so sweetly, and finishes with the slightest hint of coffee bitterness.
M - A good amount of carbonation for a high abv, imperial stout; medium to heavy body ... nice.
D - This beer starts sweet and stays a little too sweet for the style. The drinkability ultimately suffers due to the prominence of the alcohol in the taste.
