Appearance: When poured it looks black as the soul. Absolutely no light can penetrate through the glass. A slight amount of dark tan head when poured; it doesn't stick around long.
Smell: Dark, dark roasted malts are prevalent. There is also a smoky scent present as well.
Taste: Very roasty taste is present immediately. You can also taste to a much lesser degree a bit of chocolate and mocha. The alcohol comes through as well. Going down you really get a smoky kick, it reminds me of smoked meats.
Mouthfeel: Body is moderately heavy but not terribly so. More carbonation that many imperial stouts.
Drinkability: Less thick and filling than a lot of imperial stouts I've tried. I could drink several of these.
Overall: I liked this imperial stout quite a bit. Has some different qualities than others I've had but worth a try.
