A: A hazy yellow/light gold with a frothy white head that retains decently and leaves some lace, although not too much.
S: Sweet blackberries with a spiced undertone. Pretty robust, but the berries are a tad bit intense.
T&M: Upfront blackberry flavor fades to a pale wheat malt with some spice mixed in. Nothing to write home about, actually pretty bland for a witbier. The fruit isn't overdone, which is a good thing, but the rest of the beer is certainly underdone. Body is medium with a zesty carbonation and creamy feel. A nice feel for the style.
D: Well, for a fruity witbier it goes down with relative ease. Not sure I'd drink more than 1 or 2 of these, but it ain't bad. Much better than Cherry Wheat or Cranberry Lambic--maybe this was SA's attempt to make a fruit beer for the beer geek crowd?
