A - Pours a ruby red amber, perfectly clear. No head and just a sliver of lace.
S - Sweet. Malts and molasses, very simple and pleasing.
T - Very malty with gobs of molasses. A great full flavored taste.
M - As much character as this beer has, I wish it was a bit thicker and more rich. It isn't thin by any means, but a little density to this would make it outstanding.
D - Improves as you drink it, once the flavors start to latch onto the pallet, you'll want another. Really a great beer, but be careful that 8.8% ABV doesn't sneak up on you, you can hardly, if at all, taste it.

Notes: Unable to determine exact year brewed as it's not stated on the bottle anywhere. However, the label is an older design and I've had the bottle in my cellar for at least a year. Served at 40 degrees in a tulip.
Deep mahogany body with a tint of red and surprisingly clear. Heavily carbonated. Thin, bone-white head starts off small and reduces to a small ring fairly quick. Minimal lacing but decent legging.
Dull. As the beverage warms, some dark fruit makes a debut over a subtle malt body. Light spice.
Thankfully more exciting than the nose leads you to believe. Gobs of biscuit and thick malt. Roast caramel and hints of toffee. Raisin and fig and all together incredibly sweet. Yeast. No real alcohol presence, with the exception of a slight burn on the finish. Aftertaste that of Molasses and caramel malt.
One of the heaviest beers I've had in recent memory - thick, lip-smacking body. Decent carbonation helps lighten the load a bit. Leaves a slight film in your mouth. Super sweet finish.
A solid beer from Boston Beer Co. Indulge in this one slowly as it is thick and I wouldn't be surprised if the ABV were to sneak up on some. Beware of cavities as this is one sweet beer but don't let that stop you from grabbing a bottle - it's worth it.
