Has kind of a dirty ruby red color. Not much head to it. Looks not so much good as interesting.
Smell is sweet with a strong alcohol scent.
Taste is sweet bread with some citrus sweetness in the back end. Alcohol warming is there, but not overpowering.
Surprisingly drinkable for 9.5% alcohol.
Probably a great beer for the style--I just don't think it's my style.

Pours a medium brown with caramel highlights and minimal cream head that dissipates to almost nothing.
Deep caramelization, melanoidins. Toasted, nutty malt.
Lots of kettle caramelization, slightly sweet melanoidin character. Enough toasted malt to counter the sweetness and nuttiness to finish things out. Slightly bitter finish. A touch of roast and dark cherries.
Body is fairly full with minimal carbonation and substantial alcohol warmth.
Nice melanoidin character, not cloyingly sweet, but a bit hot.
Serving type: on-tap
