Appearance: Poured a reddish mahogany color, clear. One finger bubbly head with decent retention. Not much visible carbonation. No lacing.
Smell: Very malty with caramel flavors. Some cider and dark fruit at the beginning.
Taste: Moderate sweet caramel and molasses malts, with little in the way of hops to balance. A little syrupy. The alcohol is well hidden, but you can definitely feel it.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with a nice bite to start and a smooth finish.
Drinkability: A very good double bock. Full bodied and malty, with good flavor. The malts could use a little bit more identity of their own, but a solid effort.

Pours a medium brown with caramel highlights and minimal cream head that dissipates to almost nothing.
Deep caramelization, melanoidins. Toasted, nutty malt.
Lots of kettle caramelization, slightly sweet melanoidin character. Enough toasted malt to counter the sweetness and nuttiness to finish things out. Slightly bitter finish. A touch of roast and dark cherries.
Body is fairly full with minimal carbonation and substantial alcohol warmth.
Nice melanoidin character, not cloyingly sweet, but a bit hot.
Serving type: on-tap
