Poured into a Doppelbock glass. Tight head and copper in color. Low carbonation and no haze. The aroma is of sweet malt and alcohol. The taste is bready and boozy. The alcohol is not well hidden here, but I really don't mind since it is a sweet malt brew. There is a slick mouthfeel and the body is not as heavy as one would expect, but you do fill up from the calories. A good one to change up from all the hop bombs.

Pours a medium brown with caramel highlights and minimal cream head that dissipates to almost nothing.
Deep caramelization, melanoidins. Toasted, nutty malt.
Lots of kettle caramelization, slightly sweet melanoidin character. Enough toasted malt to counter the sweetness and nuttiness to finish things out. Slightly bitter finish. A touch of roast and dark cherries.
Body is fairly full with minimal carbonation and substantial alcohol warmth.
Nice melanoidin character, not cloyingly sweet, but a bit hot.
