Fairly dark and hazy, probably a touch of chill haze as well as suspended sediment. One finger worth of pale tan head with ok retention, already managing some intricate sticky lace as it subsides.
Big tangerine blast greats my nose. There is some underlying papaya and ruby red grapefruit, as well as caramel and cleaner bready malt.
Taste is quite like the nose. Some more subtle underlying leafiness and tobacco notes underneath the resinous barrage. Solid backbone of pale and crystal malt stand up to the hops present in this brew.
Solid body, slightly creamy, and fairly resinous. A touch of solvent like character from the alcohol, cuts through the cream caramel and sticky resinous qualities.
A good beer. Fairly drinkable considering the abv, bitterness and generous use of crystal malts. One will be enough though. Id prefer a slightly smaller beer with less caramel character, or perhaps i just should have dug this one out from my basement sooner. Anyways im enjoying this tonight.
