What a nice surprise to see this Longshot six pack on the shelf of the beer store. I was most interested in the double IPA. Poured this into a Duvel tulip glass. Color is a nice hazy orange. Moderate head that leaves a nice ring and sticky lacing. Smells hoppy like you'd expect, but not overpowering. Citrus is noticable (grapefruit). The taste is much the same. Plenty of hops there, but a nice dose of sweet malt to bring a little more balance to it. There is something else there that I can't put my finger on. I LIKE it, but I can't tell what it is (ideas, anyone?). Finishes off with a touch of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel. Just the right amount of carbonation. Leaves a mild amount of stick behind. This is a real nice double IPA. I'd love to be able to get this in six packs.
