This brew pours a very light amber, almost peach color; adequate foamy white IPA head forms. Aroma is a very sweet grapefruit with some piney hop oils thrown in, very thick like an air freshener.
Taste is very unique for this style IMO, very sweet and bitter grapefruit and tangerine, starts out sweet like some mixed grapefruit juice before it ends with a big bitter kick from the hops. Has a twinge of watermelon I swear, but what it reminds me of is a hurricane with its passion fruit taste and alcohol kick. The clash of flavors is a little jarring as this isn't the most balanced brew, but given the style, that's definitely an acceptable characteristic.
Some light tylenol in the aftertaste of the hops, as this brew leaves the tongue high, dry and bitter (but in a good way).
Easily one of the more unique DIPAs that I have had; maybe it has to do with the freshness, but the flavors really jump out here. A very good brew this is.
