Pours cloudy, pale orange with a filmy white head; it certainly looks like a pale wheat ale.
Smells floral and of citrus fruit, specifically lemon, a slight hint of wheat malt and a bready yeast note.
The flavor is much the same; starts with a nice smooth and dominant wheat malt flavor, soft floral hops and finishes with a huge lemon flavor. Not lemonade huge, but enough to make you think "Holy Lemons!". A huge plus here is the lemon flavor is not derived from an extract, this a NATURAL lemon flavor! A fairly clean beer, the yeast flavor is fairly subtle with low hop bitterness, the fruit and malt are actually balanced nicely.
Light bodied, dangerously easy to drink, "Coastal Wheat" would be exceptional on a blistering summer day.
