A hazy reddish-brown, with a thick, pink head. You really expect to taste the cherries when you look at this beer. Decent enough head retention and lace.

Yeasty, sweet, sour, a hint of vanilla, and a damp wood aroma. Very little cherry smell but you can tell there is something sweet in there and it's enticing.

Medium bodied and tight, tingly bubbles. Sweet and tart cherries hit you at the very beginning. Well balanced sweet/tart flavors follow through the middle, which takes on an almost creamy mouthfeel as the initial carbonation settles down. The finish is a bit more sweet with a slightly woody aftertaste.

I'm very impressed with the balance of this beer. The sweet, sour and tart flavors blend together in a little dance of flavor. At each moment you can taste all three flavors but one never dominates the other. However, the flavor is never astounding or mind blowing. A very good and well balanced/executed beer but it's not the greatest wild ale out there.

The beer pours a creamy reddish head that dissipates quickly. The beer itself is a opaque ruby with dark red notes. The beer smell has very strong tarty cherry notes and oak notes that mix very well together. However, both smell similar enough that the oak comes off more as a subtle note than anything else. The taste is a bit different than the smell. The taste still has the tart from the black cherries and slight hints of oak. However, the taste also has a sweetness from the malts and from the cherries but it taste a bit like it was enhanced by sugar and comes off a tiny bit cough syrupy. The feel is medium bodied but on the heavier side. Biting carbonation. A decent kriek and one of the ones I would recommend.

Special 500ml bottle served in a Belgian snifter.

A: Brownish black cherry juice. Foggy.

Feel: near medium body.

Aroma: Fairly strong cherry character. A bit more oak than I prefer.

Flavor: excellent sweet/tart balance ness from the cherries is balanced by a rich, malty character with toasted oak notes added from the barrel aging.

Bomber > Pint Glass

A - Pours out a dark cherry red with two fingers of white fizzy head, no lacing.
S - Lots of dark cherries, some vanilla, big oak presence, some sweet toasted caramel and toffee notes.
T - Primarily tart black cherry, a little woody oak flavor in the end, but its dominated by tart cherry.
M - Puckering sour, not really sweet though.
O - Surprised at this, but just at this with some turkey dinner, and it complimented it really well.
