I for one, maybe the few, have always looked forward to embrasing spring with a Sam White Ale. With Noble Pils replacing the white, this better be a great replacement. Pours a light honey grain color with filtered clarity. Half finger fizzy white head.
Aroma is of mostly pale grains with modest amount if hop nose. Some citrus and lemon zest tones. Hints of wheat astringants too.
Pritty bid hop profile for SA. Citrus hop flavor with a touch of lemon zest. Suttle grain flavors are detected but overpowered by the hop bitterness. Not a complex flavor, but holds up with the help of fresh and lingering hop profile.
Medium body that builds with aggitation. A bit of hop and dryness lingers in the mouth.
Verict...Not as good of an offering as the White Ale. However an exceptable replacement. Surprising hop profile adds to drinkability. Hoping this charecter is a sign of more to come from SA.
