Pours a clear light golden color with a nice creamy white head. Decent retention but doesn't leave a lot of lacing. I was expecting it to have a little more substance but it looks surprisingly light.
As soon as the cap is cracked off, it gives off citrus and floral hop notes, much like a hoppy pale ale or maybe even an IPA. As it warms, the hop character is taken over by the dry and lightly toasted malt character. I swear, it gives off a coffee like aroma at around room temperature.
Taste starts out with a nice balance between hops and malts, but as it warms the malts begin to become more dominant. Again, the coffee like dry toasted character comes out towards the end.
Mouthfeel is lighter than I expected. Smooth and easy drinking, definitely a good sessionable brew.
Overall, a decent Pilsner. I was expecting just a little bit more out of it, and it fell just short of my expectations. I think this might be a good cross-over beer for people interested in craft beer but scared away by bolder flavors.
