Ok, another Sammy Seasonal to cherish, at least this one anyhow as I was never a fan of the white ale, used to love the Kolsh.
This brew has the usual Pilsener color, bright yellow with a deep hugh meaning a little bit better than you're average euro Pils.
The smell whacks you in the nose with alot of hop aromas that simply dominate you're nostrils with tons of noble hop goodness.
The taste is a wonderful mixture of Hoppyness balanced by a tempered maltyness that lingers in the backround. I almost want to say that this brew is a little unbalanced, leaning towards the Hop flavor and bitterness but each sip makes you want another swig, very addicting to say the least. A boatload of resinous hop flavor that is really hard to describe hits youre pallette with a seriously bold dominance. If you are a Hophead then this is a must try.
Though it is not a Victory Prima Pils, it takes on it's own hop profile that I will not say rivals the Victory Prima, but it is in the same ballpark with an entirely different flavor profile. The Victory is a very dry and refreshing Pils, and this one is more of a juicy and bold Pils. I will say that neither overshadows one another as they are both diffferent takes on the style... All in all this is a wonderful brew that I wish they would make year round. As I miss the early days of great Pilseners ( Baderbrau, Garten Brau Special, Hometown Blonde) just to name a few. A must try for Pilsener fans !!! Do not let this one slip through the cracks...
