Notes/Commercial Description:
"Samuel Adams® Noble Pils is brewed with all 5 Noble hops for a distinct hop character and fresh taste. Deep golden in color with a citrusy hop aroma, Samuel Adams Noble Pils is a traditional Bohemian Pilsner. The honeyed malt character from traditional Bohemian malt is balanced by delicate yet pronounced citrus, floral, and piney notes from the Noble hops. The winner of our 2009 Beer Lover's Choice® election, this beer was chosen by over 67,000 drinkers for its crisp complexity and refreshing taste."

Pours a crisp, clear golden color with medium carbonation. Has a nice creamy, white, rocky head when first poured, then dies down to a thin foam layer across the top. The white foam sticks to the sides in a blanket like layer

The Noble hops really come through in the nose with authority, they're definitely not shy to make their presence known. Has some peppery floral character in the smell and some hints of malt, although not very pronounced.

The hops dominate the tongue with a very sharp bitterness. There's a lemon peppery presence in the flavor, a little floral character to make it interesting, and just the right amount of malt to let the hops run wild without trampling your palate.

Mouthfeel is very crisp, a little grainy, nice carbonation to give a prickly sensation, and thin which would make this a good warmer weather beer. The bitterness finishes semi-dry and hangs aound for quite awhile after the sip. I found this with the Sam Adams Hallertau pils as well, as this one warms up, the crisp character is diminished, mellows, and more malt comes through in the taste. Unlike most of the beers I like which are better when they're warmer, this one is complete opposite. The Noble Pils shines when it's closer to the sppropriate temp which is pretty cold!

I'm not a huge fan of the Sam Adams line (not true for all of their beers), I'm predominantly an ale/IPA type of person where Sam concentrates alot of effort on the Lager family. I much prefer their Imperial Hallertau pils to this one. This would make a good session beer for any pils fan, but the Hallertau is still one of my favorites in the Sam line of beers.
