Winter mix sixpack, poured into pint glass. First one around 45 degrees, second one COLD.
I found nothing to like about the first bottle. I was on the verge of throwing the second one down the drain, in fact, but decided to give it a chance since it was a LOT colder and figured maybe I just didn't understand the style.
The bitterness was way over the top for me in the warmer bottle, but was pleasant in the colder one. I could pick up the citrus-like notes from the colder bottle where I think the overwhelming bitterness in the warmer covered it up. Found this to be refreshing and kind of cleansing in a way, but have to do more to understand this style of beer.
I am glad I did not go on my first impression - I think this is a style I could like quite a bit. But note to self - keep it cold (proper or not).
