Pours a lovely dark gold/amber in color with a big 1-inch foamy head.
A nice earthy hop aroma -- reminds me of smelling hop pellets, but not so powerful -- with hints of malt.
The taste is all about the herbal hops with a bracing bitterness and mild malt sweetness that isn't balancing the bitter -- not that that's a negative at all. Though this isn't as bitter or hoppy as others in its style. Samuel Adams keeps this one under control.
Smooth body isn't watery at all.
A fine American IPA and one of Samuel Adams better brews.
