12oz bottle, best before Dec 2012, pours deep copper with a nice fluffy ivory colored head that holds good retention and leaves great lacing on the glass. Aromas are bready malt, piny hop, some caramel and citrus also. Tastes are flavorful and very well balanced with brown or rye bread crust, caramel, dank piny hop, somewhat citric - grapefruit perhaps, although mild. Mouth-feel is creamy but a little resiny, medium bodied with good carbonation. Once again, great balance here - it's not a hop bomb, but has good complexity with a bolder malt backbone to compliment the piny hop characteristics. I enjoy going back to this one from time to time, as it is one of my favorite Sam Adams beers.
