Poured into a Sam Adams glass and the head capped it off perfectly. Nice bronze color. Cap drops to a thin cap but it sticks around for a decent amount of time and to the sides of the glass. Smell is very mild and dosent' grab my attention at all. First sip shows some pepper and spiceyness up front quickly followed by some bitterness. More of an earthy hoppiness than a floral/citrus hops that I've become accustomed to but still nice bitterness. The malt backbone really stands out in this one. Taste is more potent than the smell. Bitterness is enough to push this one unquestionably intonthe ipa range but to me this was very different from what I'm used to. I don't mean that in a bad way, but not a traditional American ipa. I would gonfor this one again if I had the chance. Nice beer.
