12oz bottle into Harpoon IPA imperial pint glass
A - Pours a very clear dark amber/orange with a fluffy head that dissipates fairly quickly to a thin lacing.
S - A hint of grapefruit/citrus, but I get a pretty strong caramel/chocolate malt flavor as well which predominates down the glass.
T - Caramel malts up front, transitioning to an earthy hop flavor, which is quite nice. This mixes with a hint of the chocolate/roasted malts (which lend to the dark color also, I'm assuming). The finish comes back to the hops and is quite long and grapefruit-y. Quite nice.
M - Medium carbonation, appropriate for the style.
D - Quite drinkable, especially with the low ABV; long after-finish may reduce it a bit, but still good.
Took a chance on a sixer of this and glad I did; another quality brew by Boston Beer.
