Pours a hazy, deep copper with two fingers of sticky, off-white head with excellent retention. Aromas are very balanced between caramelly malts and citrus and floral hops. Flavors are consistent with the nose and remain well-balanced, but lack the vibrancy and assertiveness necessary to make it a memorable IPA. Lingering flavors become more resinous and woody than on the palate. Overall, I think it's tasty but tame for an IPA. Perhaps this would make a good "starter IPA" for the uninitiated. My wife is usually hates IPAs, but likes this one.
