12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass.
Appearance: Clear honeyed copper color. Very nice three finger fluffy head. Very nice head retention as well. Patchy lacing is left along the sides of the glass. The carbonation appears plentiful.
Smell: Mild hop aroma. The nose is a little closed. A little herbal and floral. Slight pine and citrus notes are present. Hoppy/malty, floral, herbal, fruity, bready, sweet, sour, coffee, chocolate, oatmeal, rind
Taste: Signature Sam Adams taste on the palate. Mildly hoppy. Toasted biscuit in the finish. As far as IPAs go, this one is very entry level. Slightly drying finish. The lemon notes become more pronounced as it warms. Simple and refreshing.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel. Slick on the palate. Very refreshing and very sessionable.
Ending notes: Overall, this beer is a middle of the road, sessionable IPA. It's readily available. It'd distinctly a Sam Adams product. I did like it, but I won't be getting it again unless nothing else is available.
