12 oz bottle poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass.
A: Color is red-orange with hints of brown. Darker than many IPAs I've seen. A two inch white foamy head sits atop the beer and leaves copious amounts of sticky lacing.
S: Oily resinous hops, pine, and citrus. There is a nice strong smell of sweet caramel and bready malts as well.
T: Oily, resinous hops challenge the palate first, with pine and fruity citrus notes following closely behind. After the initial hop blow, a strong malt backbone balances it nicely. Sweet caramel, breadiness, and a pleasant taste of grain round out the malt body. The malt taste becomes even more apparent as the beer warms. The finish consists of grain and a lingering taste of hop oils that lasts quite a while.
M: Medium bodied with a high level of carbonation. Just a little thicker in body than most IPAs.
D: Good. This beer sits heavier in the stomach than many IPAs I've had, but this is still a very tasty and refreshing beer. I would absolutely have another.
Notes: This is a different recipe than the Latitude 48 that was released in the Summer Variety pack. The level of bitterness is substantially higher than in the original recipe, but the beer is still very well balanced. I enjoyed this new recipe quite a bit more, though I liked the original as well. This is a great East Coast IPA, and it gives some of the better ones out there a real run for their money.

Picked up a 12 pack of the Latitude 48 deconstructed series and this was the last one for me to try. Pretty good looking beer with some IPA nose. Decent taste, probably the best one of the series but not great. Overall a reasonable beer but not one I will be going out of my way to get again, but one I would drink if offered.
