Been waiting to try this one since it came out in 12 packs. Pours a deep copper color with a frothy tan head that retains well and leaves impressive lacing, really nice looking beer but maybe a shade darker than an IPA should be. The aroma has a really complex hop profile that is a bit extraordinary for an American IPA, with notes of grass and mint, as well as some citrus, pine and herbal hop character, caramel and toasted bread maltiness, fruity esters and a bit of alcohol. The flavor also starts out with some minty and floral hops, with a background citrus and pine character, along with some honey wheat bread, caramel, walnut, fruity esters and some alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium and drinkability is really good. This is by no means a traditional American IPA, but it's a really tasty beer with a more complex hop profile than you usually get from American iterations.
