A - Poured slowly into the glass, 3 inch head. Incredibly clear. Just about two shades more golden than your average macro - this doesn't fit the style at all.
S - Tons of belgian yeast up front - a bit of citrus fits in nicely, and a peppery note at the end. I wouldn't have called it pepper if I wasn't looking for it though. Overall, quite nice.
T&M - Big yeasty blast with a citrus element as in the nose, but the pepper has much more presence here, and it seems slightly out of place. The pepper is definitely the gimmick here, and it doesn't really work for me. The finish is a bit watery, and the other dominate flavors fade into the slightly off-putting pepper. It's no chili beer, but I think I would enjoy this beer without this element. That aside, the rest of it works fairly well.
D - While a beer with a tasty finish leaves you wanting more, the opposite is also true. If only I liked the pepper!

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a half-pint chalice.
A: Slightly hazy, medium golden color with less than one finger of diminishing white foam head. Light lacing remains on the glass.
S: A mixture of esters, crisp phenolics, and Belgian aromatic malt.
T: Begins dry, with strong esters and bready malt. Acidity is restrained into the middle where malt becomes more crisp and crackery. Herbaceous hops emerge in the finish with a thread of savory cooking spices--notably cumin.
M: Thin to medium viscosity, slightly syrupy on the palate, with low carbonation.
D/O: A fairly straight-forward saison, whose dry flavor is undermined somewhat by the syrupy texture. Advertised flavors are well-integrated, practically hidden, although other herbal and metabolite flavors fall within appropriate bounds.
